This comprehensive volume provides a selection of data from many statistical publications. Many tables provide historical statistics useful for comparing trends.

The Blackwell Dictionary of Sociology: A User's Guide to Sociological Language. Allan G. Johnson. Cambridge, Mass: Basil Blackwell Inc., 1995. REF HM 17 .J64 1995. This one volume dictionary provides comprehensive definitions and discussion of sociological terms. It includes an index and biographical sketches of sociologists.

The Encyclopedia of Child Abuse. 2nd edition Robin E. Clark and Judith Clark. New York: Facts on File, 2001. REF HV 6626.5 .C57 2001.  This encyclopedia provides an overview of issues related to child abuse with definitions and suggestions for prevention and treatment.

Tennessee Statistical Abstract. (all campuses) Betty Vickers, ed. Knoxville: The University of Tennessee, Center for Business and Economic Research, 2003. Ready Reference HA 641 .U55 2003.   This source contains data for TN counties and metropolitan areas including population, employment, and education statistics.

Organized around the history of women in social movements in the U.S. between 1600 and 2000, the website seeks to advance scholarly debates and understanding at the same time that it makes the insights of women's history accessible to teachers and students at universities, colleges, and high schools.
