The following journals are available at the Pellissippi library in the Reference area. Encyclopedia of World Cultures. David Levinson, editor in chief. Boston: G.K. Hall, 1991. REF GN 307.E53 1991 This 10 volume work is meant to be used to give a general understanding of a culture and to find a specific piece of information by looking it up under relevant subheadings in a summary. The encyclopedia is also a resource guide that leads readers wanting a deeper understanding of a particular culture to additional sources of information.

Statistical Abstract of the World. AnnMarie Muth, editor. Detroit: Gale Research, Inc. 1997. Ready REF HA 154 .S84 1997 This work is a comprehensive presentation of data on 185 countries of the world. The data includes physical characteristics, ethnicities, religion, language, and more.

REF GN 333 .W67 1998  This work focuses on the traditions, living conditions, food, language, religions, and recreation of over 500 of the world's major culture groups. Entries emphasize how people live today. Each volume contains a cumulative general index and a glossary of terms.
